Safe-Wrap Combo Blood Collection Tubes are Mylar®-wrapped glass capillary blood collection devices that have been treated with calcium-balanced lithium heparin to prevent the sample from clotting. The Mylar®-wrapping serves to minimize the risks associated with broken glass capillaries, including glass cuts and aerosol formation, by containing both the glass and the sample in the event of accidental breakage. This product is packaged in cylinders containing 50 tubes and 50 dispensing plungers. Each Safe-Wrap Combo Blood Collection Tube has one (1) red and two (2) black bands.  The broad band closest to the red band represents the 95 µL fill line and the narrow band furthest from the red band represents the 65 µL fill line.  A porous plug is positioned at the 95 µL fill mark. Safe-Wrap Combo Blood Collection Tubes are treated with calcium-balanced lithium heparin (derived from porcine intestinal mucosa) at a concentration of approximately 70 IU/mL of whole blood sample. The expiration date stated on the Safe-Wrap Combo Blood Collection Tubes packaging is for product stored at temperatures of 2-30 °C.

RNA Medical Safe-Warp Blood Collection Tubes are used for the collection of capillary blood samples for the measurement of pH, blood gases, and electrolytes (excluding lithium). This product should not be used for the collection of samples for coagulation or immunoassay measurement and should not be used to transfer aqueous control samples. Safe-Wrap Blood Collection Tubes are Mylar treated with calcium-balanced lithium heparin to prevent the sample from clotting. The Mylar wrapping serves to minimize the risks associated with broken glass capillaries, including glass cuts and aerosol formation, by containing both the glass and the sample in the event of accidental breakage. Each tube can hold up to 220 µL and has line markings at 55, 110 and 165 µL fill (approximately) to allow for flexibility of the sample volume collected. Safe-Wrap Blood Collection Tubes are packaged in cylinders containing 100 tubes. The expiration date stated on the Safe-Wrap Blood Collection Tubes packaging is for product stored at temperatures of 2-30 °C.
