RNA1c is an assayed quality control material used for monitoring the performance of Siemens DCA 2000 Series and DCA Vantage Series Analyzers.  RNA1c is a dye-based aqueous solution containing buffers and stabilizers. This control contains no hemoglobin and no human or biological materials. RNA1c is liquid-ready, requiring no reconstitution prior to use. It is provided in convenient dropper bottles that contain 1.0 mL of solution. RNA1c is available in two (2) levels (normal and abnormal) for monitoring analyzer performance at varying points within the clinical range. Bottles are packaged in boxes that contain two (2) bottles of normal control and two (2) bottles of abnormal control.  RNA1c has an eighteen (18) month shelf life when stored refrigerated (2-8 °C). After opening, each bottle of control is stable for ninety (90) days if stored refrigerated or thirty (30) days if stored at room temperature (up to 25 °C). Unopened bottles should be protected from freezing and temperatures greater than 8 °C. Lot specific values are provided with each box of controls.
